One fine day...
"Let's set up an ELC in our school. It'll help our students to learn English".
"Yeah. Whatever. You do it first. I'll be right behind you".
"Costs too much. The school has no money".
"Other schools don't do it. Why should we?"
"Whose order? The Nazir?"
"Minta pujilah you ni".
"Buat apa buat kerja lebih-lebih ni? Gaji macam tu jugak..."
"New broom sweeps clean".
A month later...
"Yay! We like our new classroom, teacher!"
"Wow...nice. Can we use your ELC for our activities?"
"We want to use the ELC, too. Can we?"
"Can we? Can we? Can we?"
"Tsk...tsk...they should be ashamed bla bla bla...the GB should bla bla bla (mengumpat boss)..."
"Eh, rajin jugak. Whose order? The Nazir?"
"New broom sweeps clean".
2 months later...
"It is confirmed. Our school is going to get a new building".
"Wow, that's good news".
"3-storeyed, 12 classrooms".
"What about the old blocks?"
"Demolished".
"When?"
"A.S.A.P"
Later that afternoon...
"Children, could you help me take all the flash cards and pictures off the wall?"
"Why, teacher? We like them".
"We'll put them up again later. We're going to have a new building, a new classroom".
"Yay! Let me do it! Let me climb! Let me take them down! Let me! Let me try, teacher!"
"Hey, be careful! Don't fall down!"
End of the month...
"Cyn, the 'lakka' is looking for you..."
"Hellooo...salamat paggee..."
"Selamat pagi. Mau kutip hutang tikar getah ka?"
"Dari kita sajaa...kalau ada..."
"Ada...ada...lima puluh ringgit dulu ya..."
"Bole...bole...tarima kassee...ada mau tamba barang ka?"
"Tak apa la...hutang belum habis lagi..."
"Tapee itu tikar geta dalam klas...suda koyak...tada mau ganti baroo ka?"
That night...
